M. Helen Cavazos
M. Helen Cavazos is the Vice President of Human Resources & Diversity for METRO in Houston, with an extensive background in a variety of industries to include retail, insurance, financial services, oil and media. She has a proven track record of success with increasing responsibilities in human resources management, diversity and leadership development training. She is a team leader with collaborative skills and abilities working with senior management, peers and colleagues at all levels within an organization. She is a respected community leader and advocate of equal opportunity, diversity and fairness in all aspects of life and work experiences. She is an excellent communicator with bilingual skills and a high work ethic, high energy and positive attitude. She is a strategic leader with great interpersonal and customer service skills.
Helen has provided consulting and staffing services to companies in all areas of human resources management and compliance, conducted diversity assessments, feedback and recommendations for development of diversity business plans, and diversity development seminars and train-the-trainer sessions including cultural diversity and anti-sexual harassment workshops. In the past, Helen has acted as a Houston Community College Instructor on special projects. She is also a certified Empowerment Workshop Facilitator & Diversity Trainer.
Ray Chew Bio
Ray Chew has performed at the helm of award winning musical events – live and televised – with artists across every genre including Jennifer Hudson, Rihanna, Prince, James Taylor, Anita Baker, Queen Latifah, Barry Manilow, Ludacris, Smokey Robinson, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Aretha Franklin and Quincy Jones. In addition to being an industry staple for prime time musical events, Ray Chew has served as bandleader and personality for several network television series including NBC’s The Singing Bee, BET’s Sunday Best, and the longest running syndicated television series -- It’s Showtime At the Apollo.
It’s Ray’s relationships with artists spanning multiple genres and producers in various fields of television that has placed Ray at the forefront of many landmark musical events in recent memory, including “SOS Saving Ourselves – Help for Haiti”, 2009 BET Awards, Democratic National Convention and the Inaugural Neighborhood Ball television special (ABC-TV). – the President and First Lady share their first dance featuring Beyoncé singing “At Last”
Ray serves as a National Trustee for the Grammy organization NARAS, where he is also on the
Education and Diversity Committees.
